Audi A4
Due late April, the new Audi A4 packed with luxury highlights boasts a larger, wider more dynamic apperance and fuel efficient, powerful engine ranging from $50,900 for a 18.TFSI manual to top of the range $88,500 for a 3.2 FSI quattro tiptronic.
Audi A5
Additional variants on the new A5, which landed late last year, are starting to arrive. The quattro tiptronic 3.2 FSI will join its multitronic brother in late April. This sexy coupe accelerates from 0 – 100km/h in 6.6 seconds. Hold on to your hats.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Hyped beyond belief, the wait is almost over for the new Evo X Lancer. Featuring a fourth addition, ASC, to its active wheel control, it boasts angelic handling. Its updated turbo-charged 2.0L engine comes with an Audi-style twin clutch SST automatic or 6 speed manual.
Renault Laguna
After reintroducing Laguna as a 3rd generation TDi hatchback late last year, it seems Renault will bring the full rage of 2008 models, which include a sedan and petrol variants, to our shores by the middle of the year.
Toyota HiLux TRD
With its suped-up 240KW-plus blown V6 TRD due out mid year, Toyota is aiming to push aside the Commodore SS and Falcon XR utes, though its coined the phrase AUV (Action Utility Vehicle) to add some sex appeal to its workhorse.
Alfa Romeo 8C Competitizione
Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor show in 2003, Australia finally gets to see 5 of the limited 500 productions of the the Alfa 8C Competizione due to arrive by mid this year. Reaching 1-100km/h in 4.2 seconds this super-charged V8’s official top speed is stated at 292 kmp/h.
Ford Falcon
Finally revealed in a blaze of glory at the Melbourne Motor Show earlier this year, the new Ford Falcon, previously nicknamed Orion and officially presented as Ford FG Flacon, is due to start selling in May. Media will get hands-on test-drives during April so wait for the reviews. Its expected to yield the first 5 star NCAS safety rating for an Australian car.
Holden VE wagon
Following the short-wheelbase sedans and long-wheelbase (Statesman/Caprice) sedans launched in 2006, and the utes in 2007, Holden’s Commodore wagon due to arrive in May, will be the last of the VT-based Commodore range which will ultimately be replaced with a VE version.
